What is Blaze?
Sacramental Preparation is a two year process. Children entering BLAZE must have already received 1 year of religious education in Family FIRE or another PSR program.
Parent and child attendance at Blaze once a month on a Monday evening from 6:15-7:30. The sessions consist of specific, experiential and hands on formation for the children to prepare for their sacraments, as well as formation for parents to accompany their children in this important process.
Completion of the MEND and NOURISH boxes. These boxes consist of a beautifully designed series of family meeting guides and materials for parents to lead their child through the process of preparing for the sacraments. Since parents are the primary educators of their children in the faith, and the most important voice their children will ever hear, these boxes are designed to empower parents to learn and teach the mysteries of the faith in a simple and hands on way. The most important part of your child’s formation happens at home with these tool kits.
MEND focuses on preparation for 1st Reconciliation.
NOURISH focuses on 1st Communion.
You will be given a list of follow throughs to be submitted after each family meeting is completed.
Completion of the MEND and NOURISH boxes is a requirement for the reception of the sacraments.
A Reconciliation retreat will take place during the December Blaze session.
A First Communion retreat for parent(s) and child will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 9-12.
